THRIFTY 150 Pre Or Post

There are several ways to use the THRIFTY 150. We recommend that to start with you fill the upper chamber half way full. The milkers will get used to using only what is delivered to the top of the wiper. If you desire to fill the inner cup along with rehydrating the wiper this is possible. For the Pre-dip cup simply remove the inner cup by taking off the cap and the draw tube then use a blunt object, like the eraser end of a pencil, insert it in the bottom of the upper chamber and push the inner cup out. Simply drill a 3/32 hole in a channel, just below the wiper in the inner cup. To convert a Post-dip cup follow the same directions only use a 1/8 inch drill. Larger holes can be drilled into the cups if more dip is desired. When the squeeze bottle is completely empty there will be dip in the inner catch, do not throw it away. Simply lay the upper chamber sideways and roll the bottle in a complete circle, as this will rehydrate the wiper. Use all the dip, then clean. Please remember that the goal is to use only 4 gallons per month per 100 cows milked 2X per day, 6 gallons per month per 100 cows milked 3X per day. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call 1-208-677-1166 and we will help. THANK YOU so much for your Business!!!

NOTICE: The upper-chamber is transparent, this will allow you to monitor the amount of dip that is in the inner catch cup. This is vital information when trying to save dip!!!

To Assemble and Clean:

  1. Insert wiper into the top of the inner catch cup.
  2. Push inner cup and wiper inside of the upper chamber. Make sure that the inner cup is flush at the top of the upper chamber.
  3. Put the cap on top of the upper chamber, aligning the notch in the cap with the handle on the upper chamber.
  4. Thread the bottle full of the dip onto the upper chamber.
  5. Gently squeeze the bottle and dip should be delivered to the top of the wiper. Squeeze until the wiper is completely saturated.
  6. Hold gentle pressure on bottle when dipping cows.
  7. When the dip in the squeeze bottle is completely used, the dip that has been caught in the catch cup should be used to rehydrate the wiper.
  8. The wiper on the T-150 needs periodic cleaning. When using for pre-dipping, clean after every shift. When using for post-dipping, clean as often as needed. To clean simply remove the cap from the upper chamber and wash. Remove the wiper from the inner catch cup. Put the wiper in a small container of hot water and sanitizer and let soak until you’re ready to dip again. Bristles will relax and debris will fall out. Do not use circulating water to clean wiper, this has a tendency to tangle the bristles and decrease its life.
  9. When the center hole in the wiper becomes larger, you will begin using more dip than necessary. Replace with new wiper.
  10. The Thrifty 150 Pre is colored a light blue color and has smaller channels in the inner catch cup, and the cap of lighter viscosity dips. It also has a special pre-dip wiper that will last longer when dipping teats full of milk.
  11. The Thrifty 150 Post has a transparent inner cup and a white cap. They have larger channels in the inner catch cup, and the cap for higher viscosity dips. It also has a post-dip wiper that will allow milked out teats to pass through it.
